Blacksmithing for the (broke or not) beginner 9-1/2. Part 2 of the wall hook.
Finishing the wall hook using techniques you’re already familiar with.
Finishing the wall hook using techniques you’re already familiar with.
gonna have to put that in a video
you know…that makes 2 of us. But when that time comes I’ve got my trusty Vampire / (zombie) Killer on the wall. That’l teach ‘em. A 5’7″ long chain mace with a spiked ball ought to make short work of the bastards. LOL
@MrIronman1979 I just hope they are slow and creepy when it does happen.
fantastic informative video great work thank you for posting and taking time out to show us all 5/5
Haha, maybe. I would like to see the zombie outbreak myself. That would be nice to FINALLY put my toys to the test.
@MrIronman1979 well maybe in 50 years the world will have fallen apart and all the large manufacturers will be gone and the small blacksmiths will be needed again. personally I keep waiting on the zombie outbreak so I can put my katana to some good use. I need to make some kukris too, you know, just for backup.
Right on bro!
I’ll be smackin the slag out of her!
However, Over the spring / summer I’ll be pickin it back up again. (Always do) : ) everybody keep up the excellent work!!! Get her hot and hit her HARD!
Thank You! And you are all very welcome as well. I have alot of fun doing stuff like this. I’ll be back to it soon and going through more videos. I was hoping to have been moved into a shop by now; but that opportunity has not yet presented itself. : ) So, since it’s the rainy / snowy season and my stuff is all outside…I need to get it back into storage, or sell a thing or two. I’ll be building a belt grinder or two and perhaps a power hammer over the winter. Though I prefer “purist” smithin
You’re a natural teacher !
You should maybe teach weekend classes through a community college or something like that.
I’m taking a weekend blacksmithing class here in Seattle at the end of the month… I’m guessing I probably already learned more in a couple of evenings of watching your vids… but, there’s always stuff to learn!
Thanks again for all the info and demos!
Oh noooos!
Hope to see ya back soon.
Thanks for taking the considerable time and effort to make and post all the really good and helpful vids you’ve posted!
Good luck Scott!
Well peoples. Looks like this is going to have to be my last video for quite awhile. My work area is being confiscated and it appears I’m going to have to sell my shit. : ( oh well. Maybe next summer. *I hope* Where there’s a will, there’s a way. : )
It’s kinda sad knowing that you are the only blacksmith within a 100 mile radius of where you live and NOBODY could give a shit about your craft. Kinda makes you wonder what the worlds gonna be like in another 50 years.
Sounds like a pretty good plan! I’ll be making some more vids from here out on tool making, step-down drawing, upsetting, punching, splitting, and drifting from there beginning the forge weld. Then I’ll start with basic knifemaking. I’m glad you enjoy these vids. I can’t find anyone here in snobville, Utah that interested enough to learn this stuff, so I decided to go video. Hope I’m doin the right thing. : )
Quick, easy, cool and useful!
Thanks!
I’m gonna have to make some to hang flower baskets on the gazebo I’m finnishing up!
